    Notes 1-Jesus didn’t “speak” either; Hebrew & Aramaic were languages for the learned. Pple spoke (as today) dialects; Jesus prob. spoke a Galilean one. 2-Netanyahu did not call Jesus by his Heb. name יהושע (Yehoshua) or ישוע, but by ישו “Yeshu” used to stress foreignness. 3) I learned from Maestro Al-Jallad @Safaitic : written texts were written by a minority class of scribes who communicated solely with one another (since few read & wrote). So the language at the time != that of written texts. Evidence: Persian & Mongolian texts are in Aramaic!
